How do I check what my post's share card will look like?

VeloCMS doesn't render a mock share card inside the editor. The good news is that the card is not a mystery: every platform builds it from the same og: tags, and VeloCMS generates those tags from fields you can see and edit before you publish — the post title (or SEO title), the meta description (or excerpt), and the featured image.

Predicting the card from the editor

Before publishing, check three things in the post editor. The og:title will be your SEO title if you've set one, otherwise the post title. The og:description will be your meta description, otherwise the post's excerpt. The og:image will be a generated branded card if you've enabled the Auto OG Image plugin (Admin → Plugins), otherwise your featured image — and if the post has no featured image, your site logo. If any of the three looks wrong for sharing, fix that field and the card follows.

Reading the real tags on the published page

Once the post is live, open it in your browser, view the page source, and search for og:. You'll see the exact og:title, og:description, og:url, og:image, and og:site_name tags VeloCMS generated — this is precisely what every social platform's crawler reads. It's the most direct way to confirm the card content without involving any third-party tool.

Seeing the rendered card with platform validators

To see the card as a platform will actually render it, use that platform's validator on the published URL. Facebook's Sharing Debugger at developers.facebook.com/tools/debug scrapes your URL and shows the card — paste your post URL and click Debug. LinkedIn's Post Inspector at linkedin.com/post-inspector does the same. For Twitter/X, paste the URL into a draft post and wait a few seconds for the card preview. If a validator shows stale data after you've updated the post, click its Scrape Again / Re-inspect button to force a fresh fetch — platforms cache OG data aggressively.
