Online Safety

Last updated: 17 October 2026

This page explains how VeloCMS keeps illegal content off the service, how you can report it, and what we do next. It is written to meet our duties under the UK Online Safety Act 2023.

Who we are

VeloCMS is a website platform operated from the United Kingdom. Each site on VeloCMS is published by its owner, who is responsible for what they publish. Visitors may be able to leave comments, reviews or questions on those sites.

Our accountable person for online safety is Muharrem Yurtsever, founder of VeloCMS. You can reach him at [email protected].

Minimum age

You must be 18 or older to own a VeloCMS site, to register as a member of a site, or to post comments, reviews or questions. If we learn that someone under 18 is using these features, we may remove their account and content.

How we deal with illegal content

We do not allow illegal content on VeloCMS. These are the three groups of content we pay closest attention to.

Terrorism content

Content that encourages, glorifies or helps terrorism is not allowed. When we are told about it or find it, we remove it or disable access to it, and we may suspend the site that published it. We report terrorism content to the relevant authorities.

Child sexual exploitation and abuse content

Child sexual exploitation and abuse material, and any content that grooms, sexualises or exploits children, is never allowed. When we are told about it or find it, we remove it at once, suspend the site that published it, and report it to the relevant authorities. You do not need to give your name when you report this kind of content.

Other priority illegal content

The same applies to the other serious offences the law treats as priority illegal content, including threats and incitement to violence, harassment and stalking, hate crime, fraud and scams, the sale of illegal drugs or weapons, and sharing intimate images without consent. We remove it or disable access to it, act against the account that posted it, and report it to the relevant authorities where the law requires or allows.

Swift takedown

Once we are told about illegal content, or find it ourselves, we take it down swiftly. We act on the specific item reported and, where needed, on the site that published it. Site owners must also act when we ask them to remove content.

Intimate images: action within 48 hours

If you tell us that an intimate image of you has been shared without your consent, we act on the report within 48 hours of receiving it, every day of the week including weekends. To use this route, tell us that the image is of you, or that you are acting for the person in it. We then remove the image, and copies of it that we can identify, unless it is clear that the content is not an intimate image or that you are neither the person shown nor acting for them.

Technology we use

We use spam filtering on comments: a content-based spam filter, a hidden form field that catches automated posts, and an optional third-party spam check. We do not use automated tools to detect illegal content. Illegal content is found through reports and through human review.

How to report content

Email [email protected] with the web address of the content and a short explanation of what is wrong. You do not need a VeloCMS account. Comments on VeloCMS sites also have a Report link next to them.

For an intimate image, say that it is of you or that you act for the person shown. If someone is in immediate danger, contact the emergency services first. We are not an emergency service.

How quickly we respond

  • General reports: we respond within 2 working days.
  • Intimate image reports: we act within 48 hours of receiving them, every day.
  • Reports of illegal content that are priority, such as terrorism and child sexual abuse: we escalate immediately.

Complaints and appeals

If you disagree with what we did about a report, or your own content was removed, email [email protected] with the word “Appeal”, the web address and your reasons. A decision about a report can be reviewed, and a decision to remove your content can be appealed. We tell you the outcome and the reason in plain words.

You can also complain to us about how we handle reports, or about anything on this page, at the same address. Complaints do not limit your right to go to court or to a regulator.

The full rules are in our Acceptable Use Policy, which is part of our Terms of Service.
