Is there a VeloCMS mobile app?

Honest answer on VeloCMS mobile support — no native iOS or Android app yet, but the responsive web editor and PWA work well on tablet and mobile browser.

There's no native VeloCMS app on the App Store or Google Play right now. The honest answer is: the mobile-first web editor works well enough for most tasks on a tablet, and well enough for quick edits on a phone — but if you're writing long-form content regularly from an iPhone, a native app would be better. Native iOS and Android apps are on the roadmap for H2 2026.

How well does VeloCMS work on mobile browsers?

The admin dashboard is fully responsive — you can browse your posts, check analytics, manage members, and adjust settings from any mobile browser without layout issues. The TipTap editor is the one area where mobile experience is roughest: on a phone-sized screen, the slash command menu and toolbar can feel cramped, and the keyboard takes up half the screen while you type. On an iPad or larger Android tablet in landscape mode, the editor is genuinely usable for long sessions. Most writers who use VeloCMS from mobile use it for quick edits and publishing drafts they started on desktop, not for composing from scratch.

If you write on an iPad regularly, the landscape orientation with an external keyboard gives you an experience very close to desktop. The editor's touch targets are sized for it.

Does VeloCMS work as a PWA?

Yes — you can add VeloCMS to your home screen from Safari on iOS or Chrome on Android and it launches in a standalone window without browser chrome. It behaves like a native app in terms of presentation, though it's still running the same web editor underneath. To install it: visit your blog's admin URL in mobile Safari, tap the Share button, and choose 'Add to Home Screen'. On Android Chrome, tap the three-dot menu and 'Add to Home screen'. The PWA version loads offline for browsing recent drafts, but publishing requires an internet connection.

What's on the mobile roadmap?

The native apps planned for H2 2026 will include a streamlined mobile writing experience optimized for phone-sized screens, push notifications for new member signups and comments, and offline draft sync. The web editor isn't going away — the native app will be an option for those who want a dedicated writing environment on mobile, not a replacement for the web interface.
