SEO + AEO for Bloggers in 2026 (The New Playbook)
SEO isn't dead in 2026 — it grew a second half. "AEO" means getting your posts quoted by ChatGPT and Perplexity, not just ranked by Google. I walk through the new playbook and prove it live: an AI-visibility scorer, JSON-LD, an llms.txt, and IndexNow pings, all real. Start your 14-day free trial (card required) → https://velocms.org

For a decade the playbook was simple: pick a keyword, rank on Google. In 2026 that's only half the job. People ask ChatGPT and Perplexity now, and those answer engines cite whoever's structured best. So the new playbook is SEO plus AEO — and here's the five-rule version.
Rule one: write for the answer, not just the keyword. Lead with a direct answer, use real question-style headings, add a short summary. VeloCMS scores exactly this in the AI Visibility tab — it literally checks whether an answer engine can lift a clean quote from your post.
Rule two: structured data on every page. That's the machine-readable label saying 'this is an article, by this author, on this date.' On most platforms it's a plugin you configure. Here it's automatic — every post ships it, no setup, nothing to paste.
Rule three: give the machines a map. VeloCMS publishes an llms-dot-txt file and a dedicated AI sitemap — a front door that points answer engines straight at your best posts. You don't generate it or maintain it. It's just there, updating itself.
Rule four: freshness and speed. Answer engines favor recent, fast pages, so VeloCMS adds a freshness signal and serves your posts in under a second. The editor even scores your freshness. Old and slow loses in both search and AI — new and fast wins.
Rule five: get indexed now, not next month. The second you publish, VeloCMS pings the crawlers through IndexNow, so a new post can be discovered in minutes. Great structure means nothing if nobody's looked yet — so don't wait to be found.
Answer-first writing, automatic structure, a machine map, freshness, instant indexing — that's the 2026 playbook, built in. Run it at velocms dot org.
