What this integration does

The Mailchimp-sync plugin in VeloCMS listens for subscribe and unsubscribe events from the blog_members collection and mirrors them to a Mailchimp audience list in real time. When a reader enters their email and confirms their subscription on your blog, they appear in your Mailchimp audience automatically — no manual export, no Zapier subscription, no duplicate data entry. When a reader clicks the unsubscribe link in any VeloCMS email, VeloCMS marks the corresponding Mailchimp contact as unsubscribed — it is not deleted, so its history stays intact — which keeps your Mailchimp suppression list accurate and your GDPR obligations met. The integration is fire-and-forget: once you enter your Mailchimp API key and Audience List ID in Admin → Plugins → Mailchimp Sync, it runs silently in the background.

    Admin → Plugins → Mailchimp Sync. Paste your Mailchimp API key and the Audience List ID of the audience you want to sync to.

    Save. New subscribers from this point forward sync automatically. Existing subscribers can be bulk-exported from Admin → Members and imported into Mailchimp once to seed the audience.
