Creating a restaurant reservation form
Add the Reservation Form block to a page to collect table bookings: guests pick a date, time, and party size, and you manage them in Admin → Reservations.
VeloCMS ships a dedicated Reservation Form block for restaurant sites. Guests fill in their name, email, phone, date, time, and party size; each submission lands in Admin → Reservations as a pending request, and you confirm or cancel it there. The block does not check live availability — you confirm each request yourself.
Create a Reservations page
Go to Admin → Pages → New Page. Set the title to 'Reservations' or 'Book a Table'. In the page builder, click the plus (+) button and add the 'Reservation Form' block. You can edit its heading and subheading in the settings panel — the default subheading tells guests you will confirm their reservation by email.
What the form collects
The block comes with the booking fields a restaurant needs, pre-built: name, email, phone (optional), preferred date, preferred time, party size (1 to 50 guests), and a notes field for requests like allergies or seating preference. The field set is fixed — you do not add or remove fields — which keeps every submission complete enough to act on.
The form does not check live availability or block out full sittings — it collects a request. You confirm or suggest an alternative time yourself. For restaurants that need real-time availability management, a dedicated reservations tool alongside your VeloCMS site is a better fit.
Managing incoming reservations
Every submission appears in Admin → Reservations as a new pending request, and the site contact email receives a notification with the guest's details. Open the list to review requests and change each one's status inline — pending, confirmed, cancelled, or completed. Click a row for the full detail view. Save the page and publish it when you are ready to take bookings.
Adding the page to your navigation
Add a link to your reservations page in your site navigation (Admin → Navigation) with a label like 'Book a Table'. Put it in the primary nav — it should be easy to find on mobile. Most restaurant visitors are on phones looking to book.
Testing the form
Submit a test booking using your own email. Check that: the confirmation message appears after submit, the request shows up in Admin → Reservations as pending, the notification email reaches your contact address, and the form is accessible on a 375px-wide mobile screen.
