Kit integration
for VeloCMS

Kit (formerly ConvertKit) is where creator automations live. VeloCMS connects to Kit so every new blog subscriber lands there with the right tag already applied — ready to trigger your welcome sequence without any manual intervention.

What this integration does

The Kit-sync plugin connects VeloCMS's blog_members collection to your Kit account. Every time a reader subscribes to your blog — free or paid — VeloCMS calls the Kit API and creates a subscriber with the tag you configure in Admin → Settings → Integrations. That tag can be anything you want: the blog name, a content tier, a campaign name. The subscriber is available in Kit immediately, so any automation or sequence triggered by that tag fires within seconds. When a reader unsubscribes from your blog, their Kit subscriber state is updated to unsubscribed too, keeping your Kit suppression list accurate. The sync is one-directional by design: VeloCMS is the source of truth for subscriber identity and consent; Kit is where you build automations and campaigns on top of that data.

Configurable tags

Set the tag applied to new subscribers in admin. Use it to trigger Kit sequences, apply automations, or segment by source.

Instant sync

Subscribers appear in Kit within seconds of signing up on your blog. No batch delay, no overnight sync.

Unsubscribe propagation

Unsubscribes from VeloCMS propagate to Kit, maintaining accurate suppression lists without manual cleanup.

Automation-ready

Tags trigger Kit automations immediately — welcome sequences, lead magnet delivery, and segmented broadcasts start on first sync.

Where to find it in admin

  1. 1
Admin → Settings → Integrations → Kit. Paste your Kit API key and enter the tag to apply to new subscribers.
  2. 2
Save. All new blog subscribers sync to Kit automatically from this point on.

Use cases

An indie maker running a launch blog uses Kit automations to deliver a 5-email welcome sequence to every new VeloCMS subscriber — the VeloCMS Kit-sync plugin fires the tag on sign-up and Kit handles the rest without any additional config. A creator who sells digital products in Kit's commerce layer tags VeloCMS blog subscribers as “blog-reader” to separate them from product purchasers in Kit's segmentation. A newsletter writer running paid and free tiers in VeloCMS applies separate Kit tags per membership level, enabling Kit to send different sequences to free readers vs. paying subscribers automatically.

Kit is popular with creators. See also VeloCMS for creators and VeloCMS for writers.
