How do I connect Circle.so to add members to my community automatically?
Paste your Circle.so API token and community ID, and every new blog member is added to your Circle community — removed automatically when they unsubscribe.
The Circle.so connector keeps your community membership in sync with your blog membership: every new blog member is automatically added to your Circle.so community, and removed again when they unsubscribe or their account is deleted. It's a free alternative to paying for a dedicated SSO plugin.
Step 1 — Get your Circle.so API token
In Circle.so, open your admin settings and generate an API token (Circle's Community API section). You'll also need your numeric Community ID, which Circle shows in the same area.
Step 2 — Install and configure the plugin
Go to Admin → Plugins → Marketplace, find Circle.so, and click Install. Open Admin → Plugins → Circle.so, paste your API token and Community ID. If you want new members added to one specific Space inside your community rather than just the top-level community, add its Space ID too — this field is optional.
What happens on signup and unsubscribe
- A new member signup adds them to your Circle.so community as a member.
- If a Space ID is set, they're also added to that specific Space.
- When a member's account is deleted, they're removed from your Circle.so community.
This connector doesn't touch anything if the API token or Community ID is missing — it skips the sync quietly rather than blocking signup, so a member always gets their VeloCMS account even if Circle.so is misconfigured or briefly unreachable.
Disconnecting
Clear the API token in the same panel to stop syncing. Members already added to your Circle.so community stay there — VeloCMS only removes a member automatically when their VeloCMS account itself is deleted, not when you disconnect the plugin.
