How do I connect Etsy to import my shop listings into VeloCMS?
Authorize your Etsy shop once, then import up to 25 active listings as draft products. Nothing is written back to Etsy and orders are not synced.
The Etsy connector does one job: it pulls your shop's active listings into VeloCMS as draft products, on demand. It is a one-way import. Nothing is written back to Etsy, and orders are not synced in either direction. It's a free alternative to paying for channel-sync middleware when all you need is your catalog moved across.

Step 1 — Authorize your Etsy shop
Open Admin → Plugins → Etsy and click Connect Etsy. This is an OAuth flow — you sign in to Etsy, approve access to your shop, and you're redirected back with the panel showing Connected. There's no API key to copy or paste. Etsy's approval screen lists two read-only permissions: read your listings (listings_r) and read your shop details (shops_r), which VeloCMS uses to find your shop. VeloCMS does not read your Etsy receipts and writes nothing to your shop.
If you see a notice that the connector isn't configured instead of a Connect button, that's a platform-level setup step your VeloCMS instance hasn't completed — not something you can fix from this panel. Contact support if you need it enabled.
Step 2 — Import your listings
Once connected, click Import products from Etsy. Each click fetches your shop's active listings, up to 25, and creates one product for each. This is a manual button, not a background sync. It needs a plan that includes e-commerce, and an editor role or higher.
- Every imported product starts as a draft, not live. Review it and switch it on from the Products page.
- Title, description, price and currency come from the listing. Listing photos are copied into your own VeloCMS media storage; the first becomes the product image and the rest the gallery.
- Products are created as physical products. If Etsy reports a price in an unusual format, the product is imported with a price of 0, so check prices before you switch anything on.
- A listing that has variations is flagged as having variants, but the individual options are not imported. Add them on the product afterwards.
- The result line reads Imported N products, with a count of skipped listings in brackets. A skipped listing is one VeloCMS could not turn into a product.
What the import does not bring over
Only your active listings are fetched, so draft, expired and sold-out listings on Etsy stay behind. Stock quantities, SKUs, weights and shipping profiles are not read either; set them on each product. Past orders, buyers and reviews are not imported, and new Etsy orders never appear in VeloCMS. Your Etsy shop itself is never changed.
Limits to know about
Two limits matter if your shop is larger than a handful of listings. The import has no memory of what it already brought in, so clicking it twice creates a second set of drafts. And it has no paging yet: every click asks Etsy for the same first 25 active listings, so listings beyond the first 25 cannot be imported through this button today.
If you import by mistake, delete the extra drafts from the Products page before you activate anything. If the result says No active Etsy listings found (or Etsy is not connected), your Etsy account has no shop, the shop has no active listings, or the authorization needs to be redone. If it says Failed to import listings from Etsy, try again in a few minutes.
Disconnecting
Click Disconnect in the panel to delete VeloCMS's stored Etsy token. Etsy is not sent a revoke request, so also remove VeloCMS from the apps you've authorized in your Etsy account settings. Products already imported stay in VeloCMS as regular products, and nothing changes on Etsy. If you connect again later and import, you will get a fresh set of drafts alongside the old ones.
