How do I connect Etsy to import listings and sync order notes?

Authorize your Etsy shop once, then import your active listings as VeloCMS products — every completed order posts a note back to the matching Etsy receipt.

The Etsy connector does two things: it lets you pull your shop's active listings into VeloCMS as products, and it posts a note back to Etsy on the matching receipt for every order VeloCMS completes. It's a free alternative to paying for channel-sync middleware.

Step 1 — Install the plugin

Go to Admin → Plugins → Marketplace, find Etsy, and click Install. This adds a settings panel at Admin → Plugins → Etsy.

Step 2 — Authorize your Etsy shop

Open the Etsy panel and click Connect. This is an OAuth flow — you sign in to Etsy, approve access to your shop, and you're redirected back with the panel showing Connected. There's no API key to copy or paste.

If you see a notice that the connector isn't configured instead of a Connect button, that's a platform-level setup step your VeloCMS instance hasn't completed — not something you can fix from this panel. Contact support if you're self-hosted and want it enabled.

Step 3 — Import your listings

Once connected, click Import Products from Etsy. VeloCMS pulls your shop's active listings and creates a matching product for each one it doesn't already have, reporting how many were created and how many were skipped as already existing. This is a manual, on-demand import — it doesn't run automatically in the background, so re-run it whenever you've added new Etsy listings you want mirrored.

What happens after an order

Every order VeloCMS marks as completed posts a note to the matching receipt in your Etsy shop, so your Etsy order history reflects what happened on the VeloCMS side too.

Disconnecting

Click Disconnect in the panel to revoke access. Products already imported stay in VeloCMS as regular products; no further order notes are posted to Etsy after disconnecting.
