What's the difference between VeloCMS Pro, Business, and Agency plans?

A clear breakdown of what each VeloCMS plan includes, when to upgrade, and which tier makes sense at which audience size.

VeloCMS has three paid plans: Pro at $9/month, Business at $29/month, and Agency at $79/month. The trial gives you 14 days of full Pro access to experience the platform before choosing. The core writing and publishing features are identical across all plans — the differences are about scale, team size, and the number of blogs you manage.

What does Pro include?

Pro is designed for solo bloggers and creators. It covers one blog, unlimited posts, the full AI writing assistant (Gemini 2.0 Flash inline, Gemini 2.5 Pro for long-form), custom domain connection, reader memberships with Stripe BYOK, and up to 1,000 member email sends per month. The plugin marketplace is fully accessible — every plugin in the library works on Pro. This is the plan most individual writers will stay on for years without bumping into any limits.

When does Business make sense?

Business at $29/month makes the most sense once your member email volume exceeds 1,000 per month — meaning you have over 1,000 subscribers and you're emailing them regularly. It also unlocks up to three blogs under one account, which matters if you're running separate topic-focused blogs or experimenting with different content brands. Business includes priority support with a 12-hour response time SLA versus best-effort on Pro, which becomes meaningful when something breaks on a publishing deadline.

Another Business-specific feature is the API access tier. Pro users can read the VeloCMS REST API, but write operations and webhook subscriptions require Business or above. If you're connecting external tools (Zapier, n8n, custom integrations), Business is the minimum tier.

Who is Agency for?

Agency at $79/month is for people managing blogs on behalf of clients, or content teams running multiple independent publications. Unlimited blogs under one billing account, white-label admin interface options (remove VeloCMS branding for client dashboards), and 4-hour priority support SLA. If you're running five or more blogs, the per-blog math alone justifies Agency over buying five Pro seats ($45/month). The white-labeling makes client handoffs cleaner — clients see your agency branding in the dashboard, not VeloCMS.

All plans can be cancelled anytime from Admin → Billing. Your blog and data stay accessible for the remainder of the billing period — nothing gets deleted immediately on cancellation.

Is there a discount for annual billing?

Yes — annual billing saves two months versus monthly, effectively giving you 12 months for the price of 10. On Pro, that's $90/year instead of $108 ($18 saved). The savings scale proportionally on Business and Agency. Annual billing is available during checkout and can be switched from Admin → Billing. If you're already on a monthly plan, you can switch to annual at the next renewal.

Frequently asked questions

  • Can I upgrade from Pro to Business mid-cycle? Yes — you're charged the prorated difference immediately and the new limits apply right away.
  • Can I downgrade from Business to Pro? Yes — the downgrade takes effect at the next billing date. Your content and settings stay intact.
  • Is there a free plan? No — the 14-day trial is the free tier. After that, a paid plan is required.
  • Do member email sends roll over month to month? No — the monthly allowance resets on your billing date. Unused sends don't carry forward.
  • What counts as a 'blog' in the plan limits? Each unique subdomain or custom domain is one blog. Multiple posts on one blog don't count as multiple blogs.
