Beehiiv integration
for VeloCMS

Beehiiv built a great audience for you. When you're ready to move to a platform you fully own, you shouldn't have to rebuild that audience from scratch. VeloCMS imports your Beehiiv subscriber export so your readers follow you to the new platform without ever knowing you switched.

What this integration does

Beehiiv lets you export your subscriber list as a CSV from their dashboard. VeloCMS accepts that CSV in Admin → Members → Import and ingests every subscriber into the blog_members collection — preserving email addresses, subscription status, and any tags you include in the export. The import runs in the background with a progress indicator, so large lists don't require you to stay on the page. Duplicate emails are handled gracefully: if an email address already exists in your blog_members collection, the import updates the existing record rather than creating a duplicate. After import, subscribers receive your standard welcome email so they know their subscription transferred. Going forward, new subscribers are managed entirely within VeloCMS — the Beehiiv connection is a one-time migration step, not a live sync that requires maintaining a Beehiiv account.

CSV import

Export your subscriber list from Beehiiv, upload the CSV in VeloCMS admin. Import runs in the background for large lists.

No subscriber loss

Every email address in your Beehiiv export lands in VeloCMS blog_members. Your audience follows you without re-subscribing.

Deduplication

Duplicate emails are merged, not doubled. Existing subscribers are updated, not created twice.

One-time migration

The Beehiiv connection is a migration step — you own the data in VeloCMS afterwards without needing to maintain a Beehiiv account.

Where to find it in admin

  1. 1
In Beehiiv: Go to Settings → Subscribers → Export. Download the CSV file containing your subscriber list.
  2. 2
In VeloCMS: Admin → Members → Import. Upload the Beehiiv CSV. VeloCMS detects the column format automatically and imports all active subscribers.

Use cases

A newsletter writer with 3,000 Beehiiv subscribers wants to move to a platform they self-host — they export from Beehiiv, import into VeloCMS, and continue publishing without a subscriber reset. A creator who wants to add a custom domain, membership paywall, and full-resolution media gallery migrates from Beehiiv (which limits these features on lower tiers) to VeloCMS without asking their audience to re-subscribe. A developer building a client's blog site where the client already has a Beehiiv audience imports that audience on setup day so the new site launches with a pre-populated subscriber list.
