Pricing Calculator

Let visitors slide their way to an estimated price on your page

What it does

Pricing Calculator adds one new block to the page builder. Drop it on a page and visitors see a large estimated total with one slider underneath for every quantity you define, such as users, pages or months. Each slider shows its current value and its minimum and maximum. As a visitor drags, the total is recomputed in the browser by multiplying your base price by every slider's current value. A button at the bottom either links to the address you choose or, if you leave the address empty, stays a plain button. The first paint already shows the total at the default slider positions, so search engines read real numbers rather than an empty box.

Who it's for

Freelancers, agencies and small software teams who quote by a few simple quantities and are tired of answering the same what does it cost email. It suits services priced per seat, per page, per hour or per month, where the honest first answer is an estimate and the real conversation follows. It is not a shopping cart, because nothing is charged and nothing is collected.

How it works

  1. Install the plugin from the marketplace. The Pricing Calculator block then appears in the page builder palette under the conversion group. Until the plugin is installed, the palette does not offer it.

  2. Drag the block onto a page and open its settings. Set the base price, the currency symbol, and one entry per slider with a label, a key, a minimum, a maximum, a step, a starting value and an optional unit.

  3. Set the button label and, if you want it to go somewhere, the address it links to. Publish the page.

  4. A visitor moves a slider. The block multiplies the base price by every slider's current value in the browser and rewrites the total at once. No request leaves the page.

Settings you configure

Base price
A number of zero or more. It is the starting figure that every slider value multiplies. With a base price of zero the total stays at zero whatever the sliders say.
Currency symbol
Up to four characters, placed in front of the total, for example a dollar sign. The number itself is always written with comma thousands separators and up to two decimals.
Multipliers
One entry per slider: label, key, minimum, maximum, step, starting value and an optional unit such as users. Keep every key unique, because the key is how a slider's value is stored while the visitor drags.
Button label and address
The label can be up to 64 characters. The address is optional and must be a full web address. With it the button is a link, without it the button does nothing when clicked.

What it can access

The plugin asks for no network access and reads none of your members, orders or posts. The calculation runs entirely in the visitor's browser, and nothing a visitor types or drags is sent anywhere or stored. The only thing it keeps is the numbers you type into the block, which are saved with the page like any other block setting.

Honest limits

  • The total is a pure product: the base price multiplied by each slider value in turn. There are no tiers, discounts, add-ons or flat fees.

  • It is an estimate display only. It does not take payment, send a quote or save what the visitor picked, so the button needs a link of your own to be useful.

  • Each block carries its own copy of the numbers. Changing one calculator never changes another, and there is no shared price list.

  • The caption under the total reads Estimated total in English whatever the language of the page.

  • If you uninstall the plugin, calculators already placed on published pages keep rendering, but you can no longer add new ones from the palette.

Frequently asked questions

Can the calculator add costs together instead of multiplying?

No. Every slider multiplies the running total. To model a flat fee, fold it into the base price, or keep that part in the text next to the block.

Does a visitor's choice get saved or emailed to me?

No. The sliders only change what is shown on that visitor's screen. If you want the choice to reach you, point the button at a contact page and tell visitors to quote the figure.

What happens when I leave the button address empty?

The block still shows the button with your label, but clicking it does nothing. Add a web address if you want it to open a contact or booking page.

Will search engines see the price?

Yes. The page is rendered with the sliders at their starting values, so the starting total is part of the HTML a crawler reads. The figures after a visitor drags are not.
