What this integration does

The Canva connector in VeloCMS is an OAuth2 media-import bridge. After you authorize VeloCMS to access your Canva account, the connector can list your Canva designs and import a chosen design into VeloCMS as a media asset. The import happens through server-side calls to the Canva REST API, so your Canva token is never exposed in the browser. Once a design lands in VeloCMS, it behaves like any other uploaded image: you can use it in posts, pages, featured images, and media galleries. This is a one-way import flow — changes you later make in Canva are not automatically reflected in VeloCMS unless you re-import the design.

OAuth2, not credentials

You authorize Canva once through a standard OAuth flow. VeloCMS stores the access token encrypted and refreshes it automatically.

Where to find it in admin

    Admin → Plugins → Canva. Click Connect and authorize VeloCMS to access your Canva account.

    In the media library or editor image dialog, choose the Canva source, pick a design, and import it. The asset appears in VeloCMS ready to use.

Use cases

A blogger who creates featured images in Canva can keep the design workflow in Canva and the publishing workflow in VeloCMS without managing downloads in between. A marketing team with a shared Canva brand kit can import approved visuals directly into the CMS instead of passing files around. A solo founder who designs social graphics and blog hero images in the same Canva account can reuse those assets on their VeloCMS site without duplicating storage.
