Firefly
A warm-dark, gold-accented bento grid for studios with something to show.
Firefly opens with one full-bleed featured essay, then lays the rest of your posts out as an asymmetric bento grid with one large card and smaller ones beside it. The page is a warm brown-black with a gold accent, thin Cormorant-style headlines, small monospace labels and square-cornered cards. It reads like a printed monograph rather than a feed.

Who it's for
This one is for studios and independent creatives who publish case studies and essays. Agencies, photographers and designers get a home page that leads with their strongest piece, and a shop for prints or products that keeps the same gold and brown. Skip it if you post many short updates, because the home page features one essay and five cards, and it suits long-form work better than a rapid stream.
What makes it different
A full-bleed featured essay
The home hero is your newest post, shown full width with its cover image under a soft gradient, a gold Featured essay label with small diamond marks, the title, the excerpt and a byline with reading time. You can also supply a separate hero image in your general settings instead of the post cover.
An asymmetric bento grid
Under the hero, the next five posts form a bento grid in which the first card is large. Each card shows a cover image, a tag, a title and a date with reading time. The blog page adds category pills, a card grid and numbered pagination.
Posts with a quiet, editorial feel
A post shows a back link, tag and date, a serif headline, the excerpt, a byline with initials, a cover image and the body, then tag links, an inline subscribe box when enabled and a comments section. Plugin widgets can sit before and after the text.
A shop dressed in the same palette
The shop has its own warm-brown layout with a search box, category chips, price fields and a stock filter, and cards swap to a hover image when you add one. Product pages show a gallery, price, features, an FAQ list and an out-of-stock label.
Menus that can nest
Give a menu item children and it opens as a dropdown on desktop and a tree in the mobile menu, up to three levels deep. A new site with no menu starts with Home and Blog links, plus Shop when you sell products.

Customizing it
Firefly follows your Global Design colours: background, text, the gold accent, the muted tone and the border colour take what you set under Appearance, once the apply-to-theme switch is on. Fonts are split: your heading font replaces the Cormorant-style face on headlines, and your body font replaces the sans-serif text. Menus live under Navigation, and the home hero image can be set separately.
Honest limits
- It is dark only. There is no light variant and no switch for the visitor's system colour setting.
- The home page features exactly one hero post and five bento cards, so older posts are reached through the blog page.
- The small monospace labels keep their own font, and the glow on the diamond marks is part of the design with no setting to turn it off.
- The blog listing has category pills and pagination but no search box. Search lives in the shop.

Frequently asked questions
Can I choose which post is featured?
The featured essay is your newest post. You can swap its image by supplying a separate hero image, but the layout does not let you pin a different post to the top.
How many posts does the home page show?
One featured essay plus five cards in the bento grid. Everything older is reached through the blog page, which has category pills and numbered pagination.
Does Firefly have a light mode?
No. It has one dark warm palette with a gold accent. You can recolour it in Global Design, but the look is built around gold on warm brown-black.
Can I sell prints or products with it?
Yes. It has its own shop and product layouts with filters, hover images and add-to-cart buttons, drawn in the same gold and brown as the rest of the site.
